Chapter 8 in Convergence After Divergence? Regional Growth in Europe, 2001, pp 255-269 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter wishes to give a complete overview on the wide array of factors, which may influence the growth process of a regional economy. The intention is to show which elements,—in addition to the key variables discussed in the previous chapters -, interfere with regional growth. It is not intended, however, to discuss the huge literature which has been proposed with each growth factor in completeness. The idea is rather to present the main theoretical arguments, with a special focus on recent literature, and to discuss the empirical findings.
