Abstract: Abstrait L’Œuvre algébrique de Charles François Sturm se réduit à l’invention d’un unique théorème. Ledit «théorème d’algèbre» porte sur le calcul des racines réelles des équations numériques et fit de son jeune et brillant auteur, qui n’avait que 27 ans et s’était déjà, fait remarquer pour les travaux menés avec son ami Daniel Colladon sur la compression des liquides, un homme célèbre.
