Abstract:
Abstract The editors and editorial board of Integral Equations and Operator Theory announce with great sorrow the death of Professor Seymour Goldberg. Professor Goldberg passed away on December 11, 2004 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland after a long and valiant fight against a difficult illness. He is one of the founding members of the editorial board of this journal and the series of books Operator Theory: Advances and Applications (Birkhäuser). His influence, talent and dedication played an important role in the development of the journal and the series. We will always remember him as an outstanding mathematician, a very kind personality and a dedicated friend. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family.
