Abstract:
Abstract Augmented Reality interfaces allow user to interact with a mixed reality where virtual information is superimposed to the physical environment. The technological evolution of mobile devices offers accelerometers and magnetic field sensors as input controllers permitting to transform mobile devices in 3D User Interfaces. In this paper, we investigate how Augmented Reality and 3D User Interfaces, provided only by mobile devices, can support co-located teams in face-to-face interaction during meetings. Following the “Cooperative Building” metaphor, users collaboratively create multimedia content in Augmented Reality areas and lately present it during the meeting. Multiple coordinated areas have been designed to provide support to group discussion. All these areas are associated to a specific physical location in the meeting room. Specific augmented areas are also available to support content projection and sharing.
