Abstract: Abstract This paper describes the design and development of St@tNet, an Internet environment for the teaching of basic Applied Statistics. St@tNet has been developed by a consortium of French-speaking universities. After some general considerations on education for the Information Society, and more specifically for the teaching of Statistics, we will present our product in its present state of development.
