Abstract:
Abstract Effective process management is an essential success factor for organizations. Especially the retail sector requires enterprises to implement lean and efficient processes to remain competitive. However, the implementation of an appropriate process management is a challenging and error-prone endeavor. As a major reason for this the lack of effective and comprehensible methods has been identified. Moreover, due to rising market dynamics, detailed knowledge of the internal business processes is crucial to develop competitive advantage. Market trends have to be identified and needs for action have to be established early to be prepared for market changes and to react accordingly. Therefore it is necessary that the company’s processes are transparent and starting points can be identified quickly. This article aims to provide an approach of how a company can record its processes in a meaningful way to be able to improve them goal-oriented.
