Local Lagrange interpolation by cubic C1 splines on type-4 cube partitions

Michael A. Matt

Chapter 4 in Trivariate Local Lagrange Interpolation and Macro Elements of Arbitrary Smoothness, 2012, pp 131-160 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, the Lagrange interpolation method on type-4 cube partitions constructed by Matt and Nürnberger [67] is introduced. In section 4.1, we consider cube partitions and their classification. Subsequently, in section 4.2, we examine the type-4 partition, which is obtained by dividing each cube of a partition into five tetrahedra, according to the classification of the previous section. In section 4.3, the tetrahedra of a type-4 partition are refined with partial Worsey-Farin splits based on the classification of the cubes and the location of the tetrahedra in these.
