Chapter 7 in Information Systems for Engineering and Infrastructure Asset Management, 2013, pp 195-222 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This research addresses the principal research question, ‘why do asset managing organisations generally fail to evaluate the performance of information system based asset lifecycle processes, which could enable them to better understand and manage the performance and needs of asset lifecycle?’ However, addressing this question requires resolving, ‘how do information systems facilitate alignment of strategic asset management considerations with overall business strategy and organisational design; what factors impact institutionalisation of information systems based engineering asset management processes and their performance evaluation; and how information systems based asset lifecycle management processes should be evaluated?’.
