Abstract: Zusammenfassung Im Zuge des gesellschaftlichen Wandels von der postmodernen Industriegesellschaft hin zur Informationsgesellschaft nimmt die Quantität und Qualität von Informationen neue Dimensionen an. Der Begriff Informations- bzw. Wissensgesellschaft bezeichnet dabei die Entwicklung, dass innerhalb einer Gesellschaft Güter und Dienstleistungen aus dem Bereich der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnen. Demgegenüber nimmt der Einfluss industrieller Produktion, traditioneller Dienstleistungen und Handel kontinuierlich ab. Innerhalb der Informationsgesellschaft dominiert der Produktionsfaktor „Wissen“ respektive „Information“. Nie zuvor waren Informationen so umfangreich und konzentriert verfügbar.
