Chapter 2 in Business Model Management, 2011, pp 6-18 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Business models as a term have a long tradition in management theory, although a long period of conceptualization preceded the idea of an inde pendent business model. Hence, analyzing business models as a management concept requires knowledge of the theoretical origin of the term business model, because particularly in early academic publications, a wide variety of interpretations of business models can be found.
