Chapter Chapter 7 in Introduction to Singularities, 2014, pp 119-160 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we consider normal singularities of two-dimensional varieties over ℂ $$\mathbb{C}$$ . A two-dimensional integral algebraic variety is called a surface. A normal singularity on a surface is an isolated singularity and by Corollary 3.5.17 it is a Cohen–Macauley singularity.
