Abstract:
Abstract For many years, scholars employed “trait research” in attempting to identify a set of personality characteristics that would distinguish entrepreneurs from others. A great deal was known about the personality characteristics, personal background, and family background (Louw et al. 2003) of entrepreneurs such as age, gender, birth order, family size, education levels, socioeconomic status, and religion that urged them to set up a business venture. Still very few studies had been carried out on the demographic variables and psychological characteristics as predictors of entrepreneurship in India despite the growing importance of entrepreneurship in the country.
