Chapter Chapter 9 in Strategic Business Decisions, 2014, pp 241-256 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we look at strategic planning and strategic management process. In the overall scheme of things, we need this chapter to understand the influence of the organization’s overall goal on project management. In this light, we need to understand what are goals, purpose, vision, mission of the organization, and their influence on the functioning of the company. We looked at the various strategic management models. Though representative, these give an indication of the thought process that goes into strategic planning. We discuss the different methods of forecasting. These quantitative methods can be used to aid strategy making at the microlevel. We also glance at strategies for managing technology.
