Chapter Chapter 3 in Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations, 2016, pp 61-120 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter four additional analytical approximation methods are presented, namely the perturbation method, the energy balance method, the Hamiltonian approach, and the homotopy analysis method. After a short description of their theoretical background, we show exemplary how these methods can be used to solve problems from the applied physics and engineering.
