Abstract: Abstract This work, one of two papers that DDK published in the PNAS, was communicated by Oswald Veblen of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton on May 8, 1949. The article appeared in print in the July 15 issue of the same year. DDK was visiting the USA during this year and had also visited Princeton where he met Veblen, Einstein, and others.
