Abstract:
Summary In this review, we present numerical methods for approx imating collision operators in kinetic theory. We refer to [29] for a similar paper concerning the Vlasov equation. Various collision operators are described (Boltzmann, Fokker-Planck) and the three main numerical methods (Spectral, Discrete Velocity and Monte Carlo) are briefly shown.
