Abstract:
Summary In this paper we show how the new construction of wavelets on the interval, presented in [3], which allows us to construct a multiresolution analysis (MRA) on ]0, 1[ even at large scales, is well suited for solving PDEs in a domain decomposition framework. In particular we use an adaptive technique to solve the advection-diffusion problem, showing that only small values of the level parameter j are actually necessary in the regions where the solution does not need high accuracy.
