Chapter 11 in The Linear Algebra a Beginning Graduate Student Ought to Know, 2012, pp 221-253 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Determinants of square matrices are defined and their properties are studied. Techniques for calculating determinants over various fields are introduced. Adjoints of square matrices are introduced and their use in computing the inverse of a nonsingular matrix are proven. Cramer’s Theorem is established. Padé approximants are defined using determinants.
