Chapter D15 in Numerical Techniques for Engineering Analysis and Design, 1987, pp 127-134 from Springer

Abstract: Summary This paper describes some numerical techniques used on analytical three dimensional model that performs the structural analysis of buildings due to static actions in an integrated form with the dynamic analysis. The assembly of the floors stiffness matrix, as well as the substructuring techniques used for the solution of the system of equations, saves computation time and allows the analysis of buildings in which the floors have a large number of degrees of freedom. The techniques used for the solution of the system of equations of the overall buildings, as well as the techniques which allow to perform the dynamic analysis are presented.
