Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, a complete procedure is presented for the adjustment of the mathematical model of a self-adjoint mechanical structure from the identified complex modes. The mathematical model considered here is a finite element model with symmetric, positive definite matrices. This procedure is constituted of the following three steps: 1) Transformation of the identified complex eigensolutions into the real eigensolutions of the associated conservative structure. 2) Localisation of the dominant errors in the finite element model. 3) Parametric correction of the finite element model by an iterative process. The two last steps take advantage of the sensitivity matrix as a function of the design parameters of the structure. This procedure is illustrated by a simulated example.
