Chapter 9 in Introduction to Algebra, 1972, pp 285-335 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Modules over a ring with unit element have been defined in § 3.13. In the present chapter we study modules over principal ideal rings. The results yield a classification of finitely generated abelian groups and of linear mappings of vector spaces. Another application concerns the arithmetic in algebraic number fields.
