Chapter Chapter 18 in Singular Integral Equations, 1958, pp 381-414 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract 1°. In the sequel, by L will be understood the union of simple smooth contours in the z plane which have no common points and bound some finite connected region S+; the boundary L will not belong to S+. By S− will be denoted the (generally not connected) region which is the complement of S+ + L. The positive direction on L will be assumed to leave the region S + on the left.
