Abstract:
Abstract The data in Table B.1 were obtained by Greenberg and White (1963) from the records of a Genealogical Society in Salt Lake City. The distribution of intervals between successive births in a particular serial position is approximately log normal and hence geometric means are given. For example, the entry 39.9 in the bottom right-hand corner means that for families of 6 children, in which the fifth and sixth children are both girls, the geometric mean interval between the births of these two children is 39.9 months.
