Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we shall provide existence criteria for the nonnegative solutions of the one-dimensional Dirichlet boundary value problem 7.1 $$ \begin{gathered} y'' - \mu q\left( t \right)f\left( {t,y} \right) = 0,0 0, a > 0, f(t, y) ≥ 0, i.e. the semi-positone problem and offer a sharper existence theorem. We shall also present two existence theorems for the nonnegative solutions of the singular mixed boundary value problem 7.2 $$\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {\frac{1}{{p\left( t \right)}}{{{\left( {p\left( t \right)y'} \right)}}^{\prime }} + q\left( t \right)f\left( {t,y} \right) = 0,0
