Chapter Chapter 6 in Parametric Continuation and Optimal Parametrization in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2003, pp 149-164 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The problem of approximation plays an extremely important role in modern computation mathematics because many numerical methods are based on the concept of approximation. The parametric approximation of plane curves involving the choice of the best parameter is examined in this chapter. It is shown, that such approach has certain advantages over the usual methods.
