A chapter in Recent Progress in General Topology III, 2014, pp 359-397 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This survey paper is intended to continue and expand on the previous survey [161], concentrating on the development in the dimension theory during last 10 years. Dimension theory is a very rich field spanning from set-theory through geometric topology to advanced algebraic topology. Therefore covering all its aspects is too challenging and we will omit some of its features. However, a special feature of last 10 years is significant progress in the field of coarse geometry and related topics, so we are including a discussion of the asymptotic dimension theory.
