Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we will review functional information systems, explain why there is a trend towards cross-functional information systems, identify the major cross-functional information systems in business and their main roles, explain the need for enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in business, discuss implementation issues of ERP systems, and describe emerging trends of ERP systems.
