Abstract:
Abstract A regression model is introduced. Basically, a simple regression model deals with one dependent variable and one independent variable. The technique is demonstrated to show how to formulate the hypotheses in a simple regression model and tested. Setting the confidence intervals of the parameters as well as checking the adequacy of a regression model is explained. It is demonstrated how to calculate the Coefficient of Determination and interpret it. With the help of examples it is shown how to transform data and convert a nonlinear model into a linear model thus making it easy to use the basic concept of a simple regression.
