Abstract: Abstract A brief survey of some recent results on projective and quasiprojective groups of low cohomological dimensions was presented by the second author at the conference in Hyderabad University in March 2015. This is a slightly expanded version of the talk. Part of the survey involves joint work with H. Seshadri and A. J. Parameswaran.
