Abstract: Abstract According to Ibn al-Ādamī (c. 950 ad) as quoted by Qāḍī Ṣā’id al Andalūsī (d. 1070), Caliph al-Manṣūr of Baghdad (755–775 ad) ordered a Sanskrit astronomical work to be translated into Arabic.
