Abstract This chapter presents a detailed overview and outline of the book, which comprises six main parts. Part I—Introduction; Part II—Frameworks and Governance; Part III—Resources and Infrastructure; Part IV—Information and Communication Technology; Part V—Social Perspective; and Part VI—Conclusion. Each part includes multiple chapters providing insightful analyses on Gulf-specific aspects of smart cities, examining the current state, opportunities, and challenges.
