Abstract: Abstract Some features of the pharmaceutical industry are unique. Internationally, it is subject to high regulation in terms of permission to proceed, and the pricing they can command. Pharmaceutical products are high-value added, research and development being the main factor involved, the introduction of a new drug being a very expensive, lengthy, and risky undertaking (Fig. 15.1).
