Chapter Chapter 1 in Statistical Signal Processing, 2020, pp 1-7 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract It has been observed that the frequency estimation plays an important role in dealing with different problems in the area of Statistical Signal Processing. Although an extensive amount of engineering literature is available in dealing with the frequency estimation problem, not that much attention has been paid in the statistical literature. The main aim of this monograph is to introduce different signal processing models which have been used in analyzing periodic data, and different statistical and computational issues associated with them. In this Introduction chapter we have provided several real-life examples and an overview of the whole monograph.
