Abstract:
Abstract This paper introduces a typology for the classification of the supply chain of social enterprise and decision-making framework to determine supply chain configuration. The paper uses in-depth discussions with experts and focused group discussion as a method. First, we identify archetypes for a supply chain based on the position of a social enterprise in the supply chain. The applicability of these archetypes in supply chain configuration and operational decision making is discussed using several examples. Furthermore, we map the linkage of the position of a social enterprise in the supply chain with the structural and infrastructural choices. The supply chain framework for a social enterprise is first such an attempt to develop a tool for understanding value proposition and configurational choices.
