Chapter 12 in Transforming Organizations in Disruptive Environments, 2022, pp 197-204 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Transforming a business, city, or any other organization includes making changes to the way organizations generate value and to the way people work by the introduction of new processes and technologies. At the time of writing, these questions are particularly relevant following the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has shown the importance of value in transforming to new ways of working. Will organizations follow existing business models or adopt the new practices now emerging? If anything, people often learn better ways to carry out their tasks and may adopt the new ways after the disaster. This chapter suggests some such ways and should be seen more as exploratory on what may happen in post-pandemic future. Innovations in technology emerge to support these new ways.
