Chapter Chapter 9 in Telling the Truth: China’s Great Leap Forward, Household Registration and the Famine Death Tally, 2021, pp 147-166 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter Yang Songlin goes into details to refute the GLF famine toll estimates made by some Chinese scholars. These Chinese authors include Ding Shu, a free-lance writer based in the USA, Cao Shuji, a scholar working in China, Jin Hui, and Wang Weizhi also working in China. Yang deals with them one by one to show how their methodologies are either flawed or invalid.
