Abstract: Abstract The chapter puts emphasis on the issue of overtourism from the Asian perspective, as it was overlooked in earlier studies. The problem of overtourism is different in Asia as compared to the Western countries like Amsterdam, Croatia, Venice to name a few. In Asia, residents’ quality of well-being is not being hampered due to excessive tourism, as tourism is majorly seen as income-generator in most of the developing countries. However, damage to the environment and spatial congestion were reported in destinations that complained of overcrowding and overtourism. The chapter offers a variety of strategies to delimit and manage the tourism growth with respect to the nature of destination or challenge faced.
