Chapter Chapter 6 in Future of Tourism in Asia, 2021, pp 79-95 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The research focuses on three main goals. The primary goal of this chapter was to create new insights on the relationship between culture and tourist growth. The second goal was to evaluate the fundamental cultural aspects of Sriniketan that may make it a viable cultural tourist destination in the future. By doing a SWOT analysis of the destination, the paper’s final goal is to emphasise the opportunities and difficulties that must be overcome in order to make Sriniketan the future cultural destination of India. Embracing cultural tourism may offer locals with a new source of income while also helping to maintain their culture and customs. In this sense, Sriniketan is preparing to show off its inherent cultural features, which were emphasised in the article, to the outside world and capitalise on its socio-cultural potentials. However, obstacles such as a lack of knowledge, planners’ carelessness, and an over-reliance on agriculture and migration are obscuring the path ahead. To sum up, Sriniketan’s tourist potential significantly outstrips the variety of obstacles it encounters in the tourism development process.
