Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, suggestions and recommendations have been made to the top management and policy makers of the higher educational institutions with a central aim of promoting innovation. If our educational institutions have to compete with the west and remain in business in this globalized market, innovation is the only tool that can ensure sustainability. This research was basically aimed at studying the mediating role of KMP between the HRP and INN and as it has been found that both HRP and KM have a significant influence on INN the suggestions have been made to strengthen the dimensions of these two constructs. The qualitative information collected during the field visits has also played a significant role in bringing out these suggestions and recommendations as some of the most experienced teaching faculty who have had tenures in premier institutes in India and abroad have also contributed significantly in bringing out these suggestions based on their personal experience in higher education.
