Abstract: Abstract Over the past decade, medical tourism has been witnessing a robust growth in the global market enabling it to be considered an important economic sector for many countries worldwide. Malaysia is the latest entrant in the list of Asian countries promoting medical tourism and services to foreign patients. Malaysia has the potential of being one of the best medical tourism destinations in the world due to its location, infrastructure, and long-standing history in tourism. In this new era of multimedia and information technology, the advancement and incorporation of technology in the medical sector is becoming imperative and a source of competitive advantage. Thus, this conceptual chapter aims at providing a review about technology application in the medical tourism sector in Malaysia. Data for this chapter are generated both from online and published resources. Results show that as a medical tourism destination Malaysia has made tremendous development in recent years. The country has considerable number of services and products for medical tourists that induce them to travel to the country. Online-based medical tourism products and services can be classified as “well acceptable” by medical tourists. The existing medical tourism products and services are rapidly turning the country into one of the leading and most competitive in Asia as well as globally.
