Abstract:
Abstract The formation of Belarus as an independent state in 1991 proves the capability of the Belarusian people to live their own sovereign way. More than fifteen hundred years of a tragic and challenging experience, our nation has passed through, proves that the citizens of Belarus are able to work effectively, create and fight to get the right to development. Numerous wars waged on the territory of modern Belarus were pursued as a rule by inner forces and brought destruction, hardship, and wholesale slaughter of civilians. It may be assumed that these difficulties contributed to the formation of the traits of the modern Belarusian state, the policy of which is based on peace, justice, sustainable development, respect to neighbouring countries, and multifaceted political approaches. While establishing the mechanisms of governance, the citizens of Belarus strived to incorporate the best practices of the former USSR with market mechanisms of government functioning and adjust the governance to changing realities. This helped to avoid large-scale inner conflicts, conserve peace and conciliation in the society and on this basis to form the principles of effective governance. Today Belarus is an industrialised country with an open export-oriented economy. Belarus is characterised by the coexistence of different cultures and the absence of societal conflicts on religious, racial, gender, or any other grounds.
