Chapter 8 in Internet Philanthropy in China, 2021, pp 287-310 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Most of the traditional philanthropic undertakings in Japan are initiated and dominated by the ruling class and religious belief. Given the influence of the Internet and encouragement from the government, Internet philanthropy projects led by Japanese enterprises have begun to take shape. There remain, however, some limitations to the Internet philanthropy of Japan, such as the low proportion of individual donations and a lack of depth in philanthropic projects.
