Abstract:
Abstract Every bank aims to make an increment in its social and financial sustainability. The financial attitude of employees, their knowledge and behaviour can cause a positive impact on the customer's intention towards the bank. Based on this, it can be stated that through more customers, influence can be improved the sustainability of the banks. The banking industry of India is suffering from a decline in its social and financial sustainability. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of financial factors on social and financial sustainability in Indian banks with the mediating role of financial literacy. As through the given research, different factors can be analysed that can make an increment in sustainability performance. The data for this research has been collected from 319 employees of Indian banks through questionnaires. SPSS and AMOS tools have been used for running different tests like CFA has been done to test the reliability and validity of the results, whereas SEM used to test the research hypothesis. The analysis of the results reveals that employees’ financial knowledge, behaviour and attitude have a significant impact on the sustainability of Indian banks. Practically, this study recommended to banking authorize to develop training for financial literacy enhancement for bank managers to help them positively contribute to the growth of the business and maintain bank sustainability in term of social and financial. Moreover, the Government can also plan for policies for increasing financial literacy to increase financial performance.
