Abstract: Abstract Since its inception, microcredit draws a lot of attention for its astounding bearing on the individual as well as on home front of the beneficiaries. It is safe to say that microcredit is the most popular offerings of microfinance. The present study scrutinises the role of microcredit towards employability, earning and expenditure transaction and empowerment of the borrowers. For this purpose, selected districts of West Bengal, India has been chosen and with the assistance of appropriate sample size and statistical tools an attempt has been made towards eyeing the influence of microcredit towards beneficiaries. The findings of the study corroborate the facts that, borrowing from microfinance and the mode of credit consumption pattern would transform the economic positioning and empowerment level of the beneficiaries and in the long run bring changes in the well-being of the beneficiaries.
