Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, the authors investigate the prospects for the development of the sheep breeding industry in the border areas of China, Mongolia, and Zabaikalsk Territory of Russia’s Far East Federal District. The study is performed in several areas of Zabaikalsk Territory, in which pedigree sheep-breeding farms are located. The authors analyze the dynamics and efficiency of the sheep breeding industry and the growth of sheep in live weight and the efficiency of wool production in the context of farms and breeding reproducers. The study results identified promising trends in the development of the sheep breeding industry in Zabaikalsk Territory aimed at increasing the export potential of the industry and expanding the presence of sheep products in the markets of Mongolia and China.
