Abstract: Abstract The introduction provides a road map of the topic of the application of degrowth for resilient communities, its fragile path towards DemocraCity and includes a brief description of the content of each chapter. The introduction includes the reasons and the motivation behind the focus on Transition Initiatives in Italy and Australia. Moreover, the introduction explains the reasons for the choice Transition Town as a possible solution, a way to stem the global and current world economic and social crises. The introduction also introduces the reader to the key terminology regarding Degrowth Theory, resilience, voluntary simplicity, inclusive democracy. In addition, the introduction will provide an overview of each chapter.
