Chapter Chapter 1 in Smart Supply Chain Finance, 2021, pp 1-38 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract As an important mode of industry-finance integration, supply chain finance has drawn keen attention from both the business community and the academic community because of its ability to effectively solve the difficulties and high costs of financing for SMEs. This chapter first reviews the theoretical background of the emergence of supply chain finance and presents the early evolution of supply chain finance, namely that of trade finance and logistics finance. On that basis, this chapter further explores the development stages and their evolutionary paths in terms of the meaning, practice, and theory of supply chain finance. At last, this chapter provides an outline on the structure and content arrangement of the whole book.
