Chapter Chapter 3 in Basic Topology 2, 2022, pp 125-289 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The main aim of this chapter is to address a systematic and comprehensive elementary approach to the topology related to manifolds with an emphasis on differential topology avoiding algebraic topology, except for a few isolated cases. It also studies the topology from a differential viewpoint. All manifolds studied in this chapter are by defining conditions topological manifolds in the sense that every manifold M carries a topological structure on its underlying space |M|. For example, differential manifolds constitute an important class of topological manifolds endowed with an additional structure which is a differential structure.
