Abstract: Abstract China is today one of the most innovative countries in the medtech industry. This chapter discusses the role of new policies supporting the development of the industry after the “Lehman Shock” and the rapid development of university research. The analysis also addresses the nature of firms engaged in this process (private Chinese firms, state-owned companies, and foreign companies) and the competitive advantage of each.
