Chapter Chapter 1 in Rural Poverty, Growth, and Inequality in China, 2022, pp 1-23 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract China has pioneered a path to poverty alleviation with Chinese characteristics, and given shape to unique Chinese theory on fighting poverty. Such a range of theoretical and practical experience is not only a powerful guideline for the Chinese government to continue its poverty alleviation efforts and promote the continuous improvement of social welfare, but also a valuable asset to push forward the cause of global poverty reduction. Therefore, the experience and theoretical approach on China’s fighting poverty still need to be constantly explored, collated and improved from the practical and theoretical level. This chapter begins with the description of the process of rural poverty alleviation in China.
